DIY MANICURE ; WHITE NAILS

A glamorous manicure doesn't always have to be done in a salon. Sometimes it can turn out just as beautiful when done at home. Here's how :-

White nails have to be the most simple yet beautiful look to wear. I have been lusting over the exact style of nail I have shown below, yet I was always more of a claw nail kinda gal. While shopping in boots today I decided I would give some shorter square nails a try. The prices will be listed at the end.

Shade 703 white hot love

Nailene glue 

How to :

Buff nails and push back cuticles before beginning. This will leave a smoother base for the nail

Size each nail and make sure the nail is not too big over your original nail

Place the glue directly onto the acrylic nail and place the nail over your fingernail 

Once every nail is applied, paint them. Two coats of polish is required.

Leave to dry. If the nail is too long, file it down, although the medium size here is perfect for mine. 

If you wanted you could add glitter to one or two nails, but this is completely up to the indiviual. I personally prefer the white left alone. I think with some rings added, this nail look is perfect for any occasion. 

For the nail glue, the nails, and the polish the total was €14.07. Nail glue is supplied but I prefer a stronger glue to the one in the packets.

GET THE LOOK: PROM

 So I've been trying to come up with something to write about that would be helpful for people going to prom, sort of like a get ready for prom look. So, my prom was last week and personally I find the whole getting ready to be the best part. Creating different looks, and creating that flawless base really makes you stand out from the crowd on the day. 

So, for those of you doing your own makeup ( like I did) then here is a little step by step guide to creating the look I wore below. 

(Excuse the overgrown eyebrows, I'm trying to keep the fuller look)

-UD Busted (outer V)

Eyebrows:

-H&M double sided brush

-Kim Kardashian palette - dark brown colour 

Base:

-Estee Lauder Double Wear foundation shade Desert beige (mixed with lighter EL colour)

-Collection 2000 Lasting Perfection Concealor shade 1 & 2 mixed

-Mac highlighter (forget the name)

-Rimmel Sunshimmer bronzer

-Kourtney Kardashian Palette blusher

-Urban Decay setting spray

Lips:

-Catrice Nude lipstick

-Unknown brand lipgloss 

Tips for keeping your makeup in place all night- 

1. Use a primer such as Nivea's primer which provides a soft base. 

2. Avoid powder unless you have oily skin as a dewy finish compliments the look.

3. Use a lasting foundation such as Estee Lauder Double Wear which lasts all night. 

4. Use a setting spray such as NYX or Urban Decay

5. Prime the eyelids to prevent creasing especially if using dark colours 

6. Apply less makeup but blend well. Its a common misconception that the more foundation you apply the longer it lasts. 

7. For fuller coverage, apply little and layer on. With Estee Lauder its best not to layer as it is a full coverage foundation.

Book Review #1 : The Fault in Our Stars ♥

Even thinking about this book makes me tear up. [Pull yourself together Catherine] ..ANYWAY, this book is absolutely remarkable as it is the first book to make me cry. I never really understood the reason why people became so emotionally attached to characters in books or so affected by the story line..until I read this. Now I feel like part of the gang, one of those people who fall in love with the story line, the characters, everything. Soppy I know.

TFIOS is centred around Hazel Grace Lancaster, a terminally ill teenager, suffering with cancer. After attending a support group, she meets  gorgeous  Augustus Waters, a teenager in remission after suffering from Cancer. Their relationship develops over the course of the book, and although the sense of humour is entertaining, it is also burdened with sadness.

“As he read, I fell in love the way you fall asleep: slowly, and then all at once.”

Not only is the book pretty amazing, the film is also the best I've seen in years. Any movie that makes me cry hysterically as if I was in the movie deserves an A+.. I mean, who runs out of a whole pack of tissues within 40 minutes..Yes, that's how long I cried for. 

I guess this movie thought me the meaning of life, not in a soppy way, but more so to appreciate the time you're alive. Appreciate the people you meet, either good or bad, they are in your life for a reason. The movie quotes are still roaming around in my head and I often find myself reciting quotes now and again. Ugh, I'm so sad.
